Diane (Di) Landau
CEO
Di Landau is a technology executive, board member and senior advisor to CEOs, Fortune 500 firms, and international business, government, and investment decision-makers on global strategy, business / project management, and sound operational and governance practices for organizations expanding into and managing operations in emerging markets. She provides strategic expertise and board guidance in Global Growth and Strategy; Emerging Market Growth and In-Country Alliance and Operations Management; and ICT Risk and Oversight.
Ms. Landau founded and serves as CEO of Global Resources, Inc., an international consulting firm that works with public and private sector stakeholders to develop major Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and infrastructure initiatives. In addition to her executive responsibilities, Ms. Landau currently advises Azercosmos, a premier regional satellite operator in the Caucasus, and the CEO and Board of Directors of Summit Holding, a Cairo-based Japanese / Egyptian joint venture. Additionally, Ms. Landau serves as a board member of James&Co., an e-commerce global apparel and accessories boutique headquartered in Sydney, Australia.
Ms. Landau has 25+ years of experience developing and managing in-country operations for more than 70 international telecommunications, broadband, information technology and infrastructure projects, and has managed and evaluated top-level investment activities in countries such as China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Romania, and Turkey. In addition to three ex-pat assignments, Ms. Landau has been “on the ground,” providing senior advice, project management, and arbitration services in more than 50 emerging and developing countries.
Ms. Landau also has served as General Advisor to the Minister of Communications in Azerbaijan and the Vice-Chairman of EgyptAir, brokered a major technology initiative on behalf of the Romanian Prime Minister’s office, and designed a global e-commerce program for Sinopec (China’s $177B petrochemical firm), leading to transparent sourcing and procurement operations, with significant cost savings and increased productivity. She has provided strategic advice and counsel regarding operations planning and funding for major national, bilateral and regional infrastructure investments.
At AT&T Network Systems (now Alcatel-Lucent), Ms. Landau led the US $10B telecommunications network manufacturing division’s business launch into India, and managed business expansion initiatives throughout Africa and the Middle East.
In 2011, Ms. Landau was selected by the Financial Times as a member of its Agenda International 100 – a global list of quality candidates chosen by a blue-ribbon panel of corporate governance experts as top prospects for boards that require international management savvy.
Ms. Landau holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, a master's degree from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, specialized coursework at MIT and Harvard Business School, and she has expertise in foreign languages. She has served as a keynote speaker, authored Chronicles of Corporate Change: Management Lessons from AT&T and Its Offspring (Lexington Books), and been interviewed and quoted in major global publications. Ms. Landau is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Women Corporate Directors (WCD), and is Co-Chair of the International Committee for the Orange County Technology Alliance.
